If you keep reading blogs like this, you will learn to be more subtle than a jack-hammer. Get it? Jack-hammer.

Seriously, Alan has a great point. In the search for some reason to make Jesus relevant to the culture (as if he isn't already) He gets brought down to man's level. I know that is why I like Matt Redman's "Facedown" release. It's focus is reverence.

This Jesus dude stuff reminds me of a part of the movie "Dogma" my friend told me about. They say in the movie that Jesus has a marketing problem with the cross and the blood and stuff. So to replace the crucifix and gain a bigger following, they come up with the "Jesus Buddy". Just search for that in google images to catch a look.

Did the emergent church know they were being made fun of before they even caught steam?

I noticed in the article they will still carry lobster, as long as it was mistreated behind closed doors before it got to the store where no customers would see the bad deeds, only the convenience of lobster.

I see a strange parallel to the abortion industry and head marketer - planned parenthood.

FROM P-DIDDY:

I am reminded of Romans 1:21-23-futile thinking and foolish dark hearts!! It is only by God's grace that we are able to think clearly about issues like these and not misprioritize lobsters over babies or confues truth with lies. May God continue to grant us clear thinking-not for it's own sake, but for His glory as we process issues such as these.

I just read Grudem's take on degrees of sin since I now have the book. He points out that the valuation of sin has to do with the one who commits it. Teaches are held to a higher standard for example.

Another thing is the apparent degrees of sin recorded in scripture give guidance as to which sins require the attention of the church and church discipline.

My opinion regarding the gravity of all sin remains the same, yet I have been lovingly pushed by you guys to see different degrees of sin as the Bible puts forth.

Thanks for your patience.
